Happy Thanksgiving !

     While a lot of people are out of work these day's and the economy well quite frankly  it sucks these days . They're are a lot people finding it hard to find reasons to be grateful on a day like Thanksgiving . Really just one day out of the year when we get together with our families and enjoy a wonderful meal . An American tradition that started long ago that I do not wish to focus on as we all had to sit through the history lesson in school and really it's not the point . While I love getting together with my family on Thanksgiving and I am blessed to have such a large beautiful family . It is not just once a year I say Thank you nor am I grateful once a year . I am grateful everyday and thankful everyday . I choose to be happy.

     The economy has put a strain on my family  . I lost my job and I to did not find an easy time getting one .
 The more difficult it became the more I decided to take matters in my own hands . I got desperate and rather than worry about it or let it get me down I took action . I was already on the computer so I started this blog . It kept me busy and my mind off the fact that I did not have a job . And in addition to that I created jewelry something I love to do . I could of easily gotten depressed like most or complained but chose not to . Why be negative ? I got a great reaction from everyone and that made me happy every single day and every time I sell a piece I want to make more . I am so grateful for everyone who encouraged me and everyone who bought from me . I still am out of the work force and I so love my early childhood teaching career . I was grateful when I was working . But for now I realize that the time spent not working was a blessing . I learned so much from the experience . For one thing I most certainly did not have time to even think about the Occupy movement which I will not get into .

   What I learned and got out of the experience of not working and looking for a job was a great lesson and it helped me truly appreciate life and it's wonderful miracles . Yes miracles . It's a miracle that we have been able to put food on our table and yes we struggle to pay the bills but they get paid . It's a miracle I was able to use my hands to create beautiful jewelry and sell them . While being home I had the company of my dogs who shared the day with me listened to me and kept me company and sometimes just acted so silly they made me laugh and that my friend is a miracle .They kept my attention away from getting frustrated which could of happened very easily . While out of work I helped and was able to be there for a friend who needed me . That to was a miracle , while helping her  I was helping my self . The biggest miracle is that by not working I able to be there to pick my son up from school as soon as the bell rings and we get to spend more time together . So many more miracles and blessings but it would take forever to write them all and I really don't want to bore you with my blessings . Instead it's to give example on what you could do for yourself when life hands you an obstacle look at it as a miracle or a blessing in disguise . Take action . And most of all if you trust the Universe and just relax you will get through it the Universe wants you to choose and to be Happy .

    I am still blissfully out of work and still looking and I still refuse to let it get to me . I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and from this day on wake up that's a miracle in itself  and be thankful everyday , find a hundred blessing's make everyday a miracle because it is a miracle and the miracle is  you.

Not just a rock !

 Ever wonder about the worlds mysteries of the amazing rock's and stones ? How has rock's or stones made an an impact on your life ? Did you ever skim a rock across a lake or the ocean tide ? Ever collect rock's during a hike ? Did you ever find one in the shape of a heart ? There  are so many thing's that come to my mind like marbles and in some countries they  even make games out of rock's like jack's with no ball just rock's . Rock's are raw and come from nature and continue to inspire me and fascinate me every time . I collect all types from the ones I create with to the ones I find in nature . Rock's are natures gift and give great energy  . A rock is not just a rock .

    The amazing rock has been around for over two million year's and will be around until the end of time . I find that amazing . Rock's have influenced ours and other cultures around the world and has impacted the technological development of the human race . Starting with the invention of lithic technology ( stone tools ) the oldest continuously used technology used for mining . The mining of rock's is one of the most important human advancement . Think of diamond's , crystal's , granite , marble , copper , metal , even silver and gold ....and the list goes on and on but you get the point . Not all cultures around the world use lithic technology how ever lithic technology is still being used today . The earliest stone tool's were recovered from Ethiopia and dated two million and three million year's old .

    Underground hard rock mining refers to the underground mining of hard metals such as ore containing gold , silver , iron , copper , zinc , nickel , and lead , The same techniques are used to excavate ores of gems such as diamonds . Soft rock mining is the excavation of softer minerals such as salt , coal , or tar sands .

    The fact that miners have to dig deep to get the precious stones and metals is amazing but even more amazing is how deep they have to go to recover them . From the mines to the hands of the people who use them to trade , to build , engineering , tool making  , silver wear ,  pot's and pan's , china and last but not least jewelry and  I am sure I  have even missed a few . If you take apart this computer you will find copper and other metal and now you know it came from a mine .

    I want you to think about how the rock has made an impact on your life and I am not talking about rock and roll  . I thought I would add some fact's about just how deep some of the great mines are .

  - The deepest mines in the world are Tau Tona and Savuka gold mines in the Witwatersrand region of South Africa . Working today at the depth exceeding 12,800 feet .

 -  The deepest hard rock mine is in North America the Agnio-Eagles LaRonde mine . Which mines gold zinc , copper , and silver ores , 28 miles east of Royn and Noranda , in Cadillac Quebec La Rondes Penna shaft # 3 shaft is believed to be the deepest single shaft in the western Hemisphere . The new #4 shaft bottom's out at over  9, 800 feet and is the deepest long hole open stopes in the world .
 -  The deepest hard rock mine in Australia are copper and zinc lead mines found in Mount Ilsa Queensland 51,900 feet .

   - The deepest platinum palladium mines in the world are on the Merensky Reef in South Africa with a resource of  203 million Troy ounces currently worked on at approximately 7,200  feet .

                                                                           
      The impact and influence mining has had in our technology and our lives is remarkable and incredible . Think about the impact it has had on the jewelry and jewelry making industry .Next time you purchase a  piece whether machine or hand made or wear a piece anywhere on your body you now know more about the history of where it came from . From the mines and miners that dug deep to mine them and then to the hands and machines that made them . A little bit of Geology for the sake of the rock !

                                                                           
   This great big Earth has been around for centuries and centuries . We all share this great big rock and it keeps producing more and more rock as time goes on adding layer by layer until metamorphosing into different categories of rocks and stones .

     I can't help but be mesmerized with rocks that have been around since the beginning of time imagine if they could talk the stories they could tell . Ever wonder wonder about Stone Henge ? My mind wanders into the land of the lost or as most would call it the Dinosaur age every time I explore the mountain's for my daily hike . A routine I try to keep up with weekly . Rocks and stones are every where even under our feet . I pick them up , I touch and feel them . Some are smooth and some are rough some small and some sparkle and some are matte . It's composition is raw and natural and is constantly forming itself with time and corrosion .

    A rock or a stone is a natural occurring solid aggregate of minerals and mineraloids .The outer layer of the the Earth is called Lithosphere it is the hard layer and is made of rock .There are three types of rock igneous  , sedimentary , and metamorphic .

   Rocks are classified by mineral and chemical composition, by texture of particles and the process that form them .They are then separated into classification and transformation from one type to another ...

The Bracelet

          As I travel on in this wonderful journey of my life I owe it to my ancestors to pay homage to my Moroccan roots . Being the grand daughter of Casablanca's most popular jeweler , gold smith , diamond dealer and designer of some of Morocco's royal gem's it was only natural that I would grow up one day and discover my love for designing jewelry . My mother would share some found memories of my grandfather allowing my sister's and I to play with diamond gems , rubies , and other precious loose stones while he was conducting business in his ever so busy jewelry store . From the time I was born to present day my sisters and I were always privileged with beautiful golden jewels designed by my talented grandfather Isaac Ifrah . The woman of our large Ifrah family shared many traditions besides food of our culture and a wedding dress that we all take our turn to wear on our big night before the wedding day which we call a Hennah . We also share a common bracelet in which we receive upon our metamorphosis into woman hood . This was one  tradition I could not wait for as I was mesmerized by the design , artistry and detail that makes these beautiful bracelet's so special . I so loved seeing both my sisters enjoy wearing theirs as I patiently waited for my big day I finally received mine at age 13 . I have never taken this beautiful golden bracelet off since , I shower , sleep , surf , work and play and when ever I need to connect with my grandfather I know all I have to do is look at my wrist and  know that he lives forever in me and guides me on my journey into designing .

A perfect ending to a perfect summer !

                                                                         
     As summer comes to an end and the beginning of new school year I find my self doing what I love . My love for designing jewelry goes way back to the days of my childhood when playing in my mothers jewelry box fascinated me . My mother always had beautiful jewelry made and given to her by my Grandfather . It was so sparkly and attracted my curious eyes . I learned at a young age about my talented Grandfather whose passion for jewelry design was his business . Although I never met my grandfather I do feel we share the same passion in design . I feel him in my heart guiding me along every step I make on my journey .
 
       Summer brought on new opportunities as I was being laid off from my other passion as an early childhood educator   . The first day of summer was spent looking for a new job at a new school . I put my time in daily and interviewed weekly . In order to keep my mind busy and positive I turned to my hobby , which then just kept me creating . While looking for work in this large internet world we find at our finger tips , I found my self networking in between emailing my resume . I created a blog added a facebook page and began tweeting and posting pictures everywhere . I had my first party " A girls night out in the Afternoon " this was the kick off to a new beginning teaching others how to create a beautiful piece of their own . A fun afternoon for everyone . I sold out on my Hamsah , created new designs and everyone that came had not only learned something they laughed a little , ate a little , drank a little and shopped a little as well . I owe credit to the beautiful Micaela who is an awesome mentor , friend , and just keeps inspiring me .

     I am still looking for part time work but have began creating my business which is also my passion into full time work . I thank the people that laid me off  and I have no regrets for if I never got laid off I would not have found the opportunity to create doing what I love and calling it work . I am grateful for all my beautiful friends old and new and to all who have inspired  me along my journey I am blessed by the those who found something and continue to find something they have to have . So happy to have new clients waiting for me to design my magic . I love the positive feed back and the constant encouragement thank you to all .

    As the summer transitions to the next season with changes of  weather and color I will say good bye to a perfect summer and hello to fall  . I accept what lies ahead and look forward to a beautiful year .

A little bit of Yosemite magic ...

              Sunday's party was the kick off to an awesome week . We made some awesome Scullies and drank some  awesome Sangria . Everyone that missed it well I am sure they will be at the next one . Those who came benefited on some of my pieces and learned how to design my favorite style (" The bohemian ") . To everyone's chagrin the party ended and the packing for Yosemite began .

             A long five hour drive to the lovely destination of Yosemite . The car was loaded up and ready to go with two dog's , husband and my beautiful boy Ethan . The first four hours were a drag until Oak Hurst when the  scenery changed to beautiful farms  and then to beautiful Pines . Finally we pull in at The Pines Resort at the beautiful Bass Lake . Ahhhh yes I instantly see relaxation in my future and some yummy Mai Thai's ... made perfect and poured in a nice cocktail glass on the rock's as I lay pool side amidst the beauty of a lake nestled against the gorgeous pine tree's of Yosemite . The boy's left me pool side as they took the dog's to the lake . I joined them later and swam in the lake with my beautiful Bella . She was enjoying her swim while Jed was more interested in exploring the lakes surroundings and not interested in swimming at all but not minding the water .Or was he really looking for something to chase . At last three little duck's came waddling by and that's all it took for Jed to bolt out after them nearly taking off my arm . He swam all the way to the middle of the lake as the duck's got away . A happy Jed came swimming back to shore ready to do it all over again . He did not retrieve what he was chasing but happy none the less to have had the chase .

            The smell of fresh green pine tree's and fresh air can make anyone start to feel the magic of the great Vortex in Yosemite a seventh wonder which everyone must see and feel . Truly spectacular rock's of all size's from the smallest pebble to the massive rock called Half Dome . While standing in the viewing area of Half Dome you must tilt your head back in order to get a perfect view of the massive size rock formation . A truly spectacular site to see . Each site was more breath taking than the next . I could not help but to feel zen and truly at one sharing the wonderful energy that was exploding by each natural wonder leaving me so blessed and grateful for the gift's given to man by Nature .

           When  not driving or hiking in Yosemite  one must find a way to cool off and play . We decided to play on Bass Lake . Renting a boat for half day was quite refreshing and energetic as we played with tubes and wake boards . The view on the lake is just as magical as the sites of Yosemite has to offer . Making everything explode with color and beauty . Five hour's driving the boat around the lake goes by in a blink  we were so thankful that we took the time to take in all the element's to enjoy each moment as we played in the water of this magnificent lake .

        Before the trip ended we took on site seeing . And of course by car the amazing tree's are just as massive and fill the forest with every shade of green . These massive tree's are probably as tall as some of the tallest building's in New York city with each tree side by side filling up the entire forest . As we enter the middle of the park the forest of tree's turn to multi color's of green to light purple bloom's of lavender and tall blades of grass in between until a beautiful meadow open's with a burst of yellow shades of flower's and a creek at the bottom of  these beautiful gigantic rock formation's . Breath taking and to truly enjoy the magic one must experience this site at least once your life . One word to describe the magic and the experience I would have to say  " Spiritual " . The dog's even felt the energy and the magic of Yosemite . I can not wait to come back and see the sites unseen on this trip . For there is much much more to the beauty of Yosemite .

A girl's night out in the afternoon !

     You might be wondering why a girl's night out in the afternoon ? All the girl's like to get away for a fun girl's night with our friend's to schmooze and eat and drink and if we learn how to create something than that's a constructive bonus . Since my passion is to design jewelry out of my love for beautiful stones of all sort's and yes diamond's are still my favorite rocks . I started creating a line of jewelry not knowing where this would lead me . I was distracting myself while looking for work . And well that was not happening and summer has been passing me by still jobless but creating none the less . It helps to keep my  mind off the rejections and pretty piece makes me quickly forget all about it . I spend a lot of time with my dearest friend Micaela who came up with the name and even the idea that  I should teach the girl's how to make a fun Bohemian style necklace . And so the 1st event was created . I figured if I could teach three year old's to make this I could teach anyone and so I went with it .

   I had two weeks to plan and invite as many people as I could to get to 10 rsvp's  the odds of ten showing up turned into a solid 5 . Yikes well I managed to get my house ready and a huge brew of everybody's favorite Sangria , fruit , Brie and crackers and  chips and salsa . Finally it's 2:00 uh oh the girl's were running late and my nerves were getting the best of me until finally they showed up . It turned out to be a fun afternoon . I sold my Humsa line, two necklaces to Sylvia and two bracelet's to Felicia . DeDe , Micaela's mom bought one of my Bohemian pieces and Madelyn inspired me to design a piece we named Scully designed by Tilly created by  Madelyn . A girl's night out turned into successful afternoon and thank the beautiful goddesses for Sangria .       

    So with all the craziness of getting ready for " A fun girl's night out in the afternoon " . I got a fabulous vintage tee of the King himself . Elvis Presley who died August 16 , 1977  . I remember looking outside the window with my friend Melissa after hearing the new's . We were 10 years old . Thank you Micaela and Elizabeth for turning me on to yet another very cool very rockin tee ...

Inspired !

      I love it when I get to hang out with friend's eat good food and inspire each other . The  Hummus Bar was the perfect place to meet a long time friend . Sig a gorgeous exotic beauty with travel and design on her brain . Sorry this one is taken . Sig inspired me , no lit me on fire with her business knowledge . And of course two designer's out at lunch of  course we checked out each others jewels . Love it woman helping woman . 

     I am on a hamsah kick inspired by my sister who always say's I should do a line of hamasah jewelry . Well I did finally . So then of course she want's it in brown . After all she is my sister and that's one way for her to get what she wants .  So I made a necklace with sterling silver wire, smokey quartz and a sterling silver hamsah . Look's great with a white W.B . or  a brown shirt  layered up with one of my long lariat's ...   The look is layering up the jewel's with long and short , silver and leather for that hanging out at the beach look . Take off the long stuff keep the hamsah on add a white tee with a black suit for that professional look and the hamsah will keep you feeling protected at that interview or an important meeting . Everybody feels good and looks good when wearing a hamsah .

    Time to relax . Gonna take a jacuzzi and rest my soul with a nice cocktail poured on the rock's and enjoy .
Maybe I will be inspired to share my passion fruit cocktail recipe next time . Bye for now .

You are your word !

      Would you ever want your friends or family to refer to you as a flake ? NO ! I think not . Then why do some people always cancel at the last minute when they for sure stated they would be there or help you out when you need it ? Why do they give you a lame excuse ? And why do they not get that being a man or woman of his or her word is like one of the most valuable thing's you can do . Everyone will have more respect for you at home and in the work place . If you flake out on your friends that habit will show up every where in your life so just stop this bad ugly habit . And yes a bad ugly habit is just negative winning .

     Stop being  the person who gives excuses and start being a person that stick's to your word . Remember that when you give your word and follow through even if you are tired or your body just can't move . You need to fight and move through it and once you do you will be happy you did . You will feel strong and you will feel better your  friend's won't call you a flake . Being a flake or rather being someone that can not be counted on is a negative vibe and a negative vibe can be broken all you have to do is choose to do it . Don't listen to the negative voice telling you that you are tired and you don't feel well or don't feel like it  . Fight back fight this feeling .Once you choose to be the man or the woman of your word life will feel better and so will you .

    So glad you asked how you could stop this ugly habit that is bringing you down . Choose positive and  that means choose very carefully what you say and what you choose to do . If you say you will be there be there . Be someone that can be counted on at work and everywhere . That means to fight back when you don't feel good that's negative getting in the way it want's to win . Don't let it , make positive the winner . Put it in your head that your word is as good as gold . This attitude will follow you at work at home and with friends it will lead to positive relationships everywhere . Positive word's will get easier and you will start to choose your word's carefully and beautifully . Flaky just sound's flaky and unless it's the crust of my mom's apple pie I want nothing to do with it .

  If you are making plan's to meet me for my favorite cocktail shaken not stirred poured on the rock's then please don't flake .

" Smile "

     So the big question is . How do you get the week started ? Whether you are looking for work ,  a boy friend , a girl friend or what ever it is you are looking for . Be positive , believe , have faith , be patient , relax and just have fun with it . Coffee helps get the juices flowing so if you are fortunate enough to make the drive to work be grateful for the fwy traffic or to the lady that just cut you off she probably is in a bad mood cause she has no job to get to and is wondering how she will pay the bill's . Just smile it will make you feel better and maybe someone might just catch a glimpse at you and smile back and so the smile chain will begin .

     Remember no matter what it is you are looking for you get two choices while you are looking you can choose to feel good or you can choose to feel bad  ( negative or positive )  if you choose positive the road might lead you on an unforgettable adventure and you might meet some amazing people who might just lead you to your destiny . When you are feeling good so many good things can happen your eyes will open and you will begin to see everything you need to find what it is you are looking for .

    I am not a negative person nor do I feel bad .  I can not drift on this or tell you why you should get off it . All I can offer is this get out of the dark get into the light and just find something that makes you grateful and go with it . Life is precious and fun even the obstacles that get in the way need to be there to guide you to make you strong to remind you that you are alive so live , jump over these obstacles smile and have fun . Let go of what ever it is that is dragging you down or is becoming a huge rock on your shoulder .

    So if you are on a job hunt , a partner hunt , or what ever hunt you are on . Smile you will look better , feel better and everything will just be better . Be grateful for what you have and appreciate those who guide you . Just let yourself go, have fun  and  smile because it is contagious ... And if you really need more help at the end of the day order up your favorite cocktail on the rock's  and while you are sipping it think of me cause I will be smiling and sipping my cocktail served on the rock's just for me thinking about white sandy beaches , sunset's , palm trees  and ya your beautiful smile  ...

The Mermaid

    This summer I have been playing at the beach . Not so much my usual Malibu Beach but Surf City or rather the more commonly known Huntington beach . The water is so clean , so fresh and so inviting it kind of brings out the mermaid in me as I start to walk in the waves and float over the white wash . The dolphins were out on this perfect sunny day body surfing along with me just playing in the salty sea wave after wave of care free fun . Each wave has it's own unique feel the perfect one that you catch just in time putting you on top or the one that carries you up and over . Ahhhh nothing like allowing the mermaid to come out and play on a beautiful summer day . The day came to an end my legs landed back on to shore reminding me that I am a woman that lives on land and can visit from time to time .
 
     Mmmmm yes a beautiful necklace I made for Jan is just one of favorite pieces that reminds me of the sea and mermaids which I pretend to be while frolicking at the beach . And if you want a yummy after the beach drink try my recipe for Sangria .... Ya that's right pour it on the rocks ....

                                                    and raspberries .
                                                    cut in half a passion fruit scoop out the pulp
                                                     and some mangos
                                                      add the fruit to the pitcher
                                                     add your Sangria with a splash of O.J

Bohemian beads cut off's and a bikini !

  Ethan had a blast at camp Woodward and I had a blast in H.B or Surf City . So much that we had to come back and play again with Ethan . Might have to just come back for the U.S. Open of Surf . A simple bikini will do with some cut off shorts and couple of great Bohemian beads and I am set for an awesome day of play and maybe a Margi on the rocks of course with some really awesome fish tacos . Life is good .

 

Lucky lil kitty !

   It has been a long week . Whats a mother to do . I dropped my son off at camp on Sunday and things just haven't been the same since . I guess I thrive when he is home , I some how manage to get more done while driving him around and chasing after him when he's home . To quiet around here .

   We are taking advantage while Ethan has been at camp . Headed down south to play in beautiful Huntington Beach and made a day of it . Laid in the sand and played in the water dried off and took a stroll on Main St . shopped a little walked a little and enjoyed the music . The long day made for some growling stomach's so we stopped to eat at Fred's for Taco Tuesday and yummy Margarita's on the rock's and this time I'll take the salt . We will definitely be back at Fred's for Taco Tuesday maybe next Tuesday  . I dare you to come by and say hello if ya see me .

    The adventure continued on Wednesday when Laurence saved a kitty's life by almost getting run over by a Mack truck . Cute Lil kitty but oh so much work like taking care of a baby . I literally have to bottle feed the little thing  . Dog's are going crazy so needless to say tough to get anything done around here.

   Ahhhh It's Thursday and I am relieved and sufficed to say I managed to send out my email's , made a necklace and hey even got to spend some time here on this blog . After all that I guess I did get a lot done . Kitty is a calling me she need's more food and I need a little something on the rock's ....  Cheer's for now !

A little something on the rocks !

     Looks like the little bird's are still hanging around and it looks like a cute little humming bird built its nest to keep them company  . It seems like all the animals want to come over these day's . Bradley , the neighbor's Chihuahua broke through the fence to come and play with Jed and Bella , my two very big dog's . Bradly likes to break in every time we fix the fence . Jed and Bella do not seem to mind they like the little guy .  Then yesterday I found a cat laying on the porch . The animals are gonna start talking any minute I am sure . Or maybe I just need a little something on the rocks .

    It's been a long and successful week . Vintage tees seem to be selling but now I need to get back out and hunt for more . Although on my way to pick up Ethan at Skate Lab I made a pit stop and found a vintage Star War's original tee shirt from the original release of Star Wars which was very cool . It's a lot of work hunting for vintage rock tee's . Some times  I get really lucky and find a bunch or not . It's all good fun and good will hunting .

   

Bob Marley Three little birds HD (Original)

      What great karma today ! I found a bird nest up high on the trellis on my porch and inside were three little bird's . No joke !  That's my favorite song by Bob Marley telling the world that every little thing is gonna be all right . I get a phone a call from Shop Around The Corner where I have a booth that I am selling vintage rock shirt's in . Some one was interested in my Bob Marley shirt . Ya I do believe everything is gonna be all right .

         I decided well then I should celebrate and go thrift store hunting . Today's find's were a Johnny Cash t-shirt , a vintage Donald Duck shirt for the kid in me a three very cool vintage books , Thomas Wolfe's Look Homeward , Angel , Her name is Barbara by Randall Riese and The History of Popular Culture ...since 1815 By Norman Cantor and Michael Werthman ... I just love cool vintage .

         I am suffice to say that it is a successful week of hard work and creativity , necklaces hand made by me , designed my booth and added my vintage rock t-shirt's to my collection , of rock's and thing's . I new it was going to be good day when the three little birds who were sitting by my door step singing sweet song's of melodies pure and true " This is my message to you oo hoo . Don't worry bout a thing cause every little thing is gonna be all right .

A day at the beach meet's Estate Sale and a BBQ !

          The guys were up and out and headed towards Palm Spring's early Saturday morning and since I rarely get the text from my good friend Micaela that usually leads us on a hike , estate sale , or some type of new adventure that is always new and exciting . I decided to take advantage and go to Malibu for a much needed beach break . I always come back inspired and wired with fresh ideas . It was not as warm as I expected so I walked around a bit checked out the latest in bohemian chic , satisfied my pallet with yummy fish taco's at Howdy's . I couldn't figure out why they are now serving up sushi with a Mexicali flavor when Nobu is right there . Then it dawned on me I was meaning to eat at the Fish Grill and forgot  . To late and it was pretty yummy anyway . Now that my stomach was no longer growling I headed straight for my beach fix  sat on my sarong and watched the many surfers enjoying riding the waves  .

         It was time to hit the hwy back home . I love the drive home as the view is gorgeous both way's . No traffic and all was clear for a smooth ride home . It was around 5:00 a rare time to find an Estate Sale that is open and still has stuff worth buying I was already in the hood .  It was like Micaela assigned the Estate Sale God's to stay open for Til . I even maneuvered my car into the front of the house . It was a nice surprise and while I love hitting a good sale with Micaela I couldn't resist this one she was with me in spirit for sure and she would loved this one  . A coincidence or synchronicity the guy running the Estate Sale was from Downey and a Warren graduate my High school rival from my Downey days . I did not leave this sale empty handed I bought 3 vintage albums , 3 vintage motocross magazines and 2 very cool hats . I left with smile happy for taking the leap after all this  is my journey I am on anyway .

            Stopped by Jan's on my way home a neighbor and good friend . Good friends love to feed me and who am I to argue . I must look hungry or something . You can't drink on an empty stomach and food goes well with a cold drink especially at a BBQ so I ate . Did I mention that Jan is good in the kitchen gotta love her Lemon Fig Jam  . Marries  well with crackers , Bree and a glass of red wine . Ya I am still dreaming about that last jar she made me . I must say  it was a nice evening with friends even though I admit I did crash the Rosser's BBQ . At least I got to see Jan and Dave's  grand baby who was not a happy camper but in good hands . Good food , good friends and now it was time to go home . Wow it was long day and boy was I ready to hit my head on a very comfy pillow but not before my much deserved cocktail ya you know the one I love on the rocks ... love always and Cheer's Til .
